چکیده

A low-noise amplifier (LNA) uses low-loss monolithic transformer feedback to neutralize the gate–drain overlap capacitance of a field-effect transistor (FET). A differential implementation in 0.18m CMOS technology, designed for 5-GHz wireless local-area networks (LANs), achieves a measured power gain of 14.2 dB, noise figure (NF, 50 ) of 0.9 dB, and third-order input intercept point (IIP3) of+0.9 dBm at 5.75 GHz, while consuming 16 mW from a 1-V supply. The feedback design is benchmarked to a 5.75-GHz cascode LNA fabricated in the same technology that realizes 14.1-dB gain, 1.8-dB NF, and IIP3 of+4.2 dBm, while dissipating 21.6 mW at 1.8 V.

A 0.7 V Transformer-feedback CMOS Low-noise Amplifier for 5-GHz Wireless LAN

In this paper, we present a 0.7 V low-noise amplifier(LNA) using monolithic transformer feedback to neutralize the gate-drain overlap capacitance of a field-effect transistor(FET). It is a single-ended amplifier implemented in 0.18-μm CMOS technology designing for 5-GHz wireless local-area networks (LANs). This LNA achieves a simulated power gain of 10.84 dB, noise figure(NF) of 2.4 dB, and inp...

A New Ultra-Wideband Low Noise Amplifier With Continuous Gain Control

This paper presents a new variable gain low noise amplifier (VG-LNA) for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed VG-LNA uses a common-source (CS) with a shunt-shunt active feedback as an input stage to realize input matching and partial noise cancelling. An output stage consists of a gain-boosted CS cascode and a gain control circuit that moves the high resonant frequency to higher freq...

An Inductor-less Sub-mW Low Noise Amplifier for Wireless Sensor Network Applications

This paper presents a Sub-mW differential Common-Gate Low Noise Amplifier (CGLNA) for ZigBee standard. The circuit takes the advantage of shunt feedback and Dual Capacitive Cross Coupling (DCCC) to reduce power consumption and the bandwidth extension capacitors to support 2.4 GHz ISM band. An amplifier employing these techniques has been designed and simulated in 0.18 mm TSMC CMOS technology. T...

A 1.6 mW 5.4 GHz transformer-feedback gm-boosted current-reuse LNA in 0.18/μm CMOS

Delivering high gain, low noise and good linearity simultaneously with low power consumption in fully-integrated CMOS low noise amplifiers (LNAs) has posed significant difficulty. This paper presents a 19 dB gain, 2.4 dB noise figure, common-gate common-source (CG-CS) single-ended LNA operating at 5.4 GHz. Using gm-boosting, current-reuse and transformer feedback techniques, the LNA mitigates s...
